WARNING! Genital Warts are highly contagious, very common and can recur.

Papiloma viruses, which cause warts can affect any part of the skin. The virus can be transmitted by physical contact including sex.

Symptoms:

  • Pink lumps, varying in size on penis, scrotum (the sac holding testicles), vagina or anus.
  • Can become fleshy cauliflower-like lumps.

Treatment: Regular visits to the clinic

  • A special liquid is painted on to the warts. They can also be frozen off. Early treatment is advised.

Prevention:

  • Warts are caused by a virus. The best way to prevent infection is to avoid direct contact with them.
  • Using condoms will reduce the risk of infection.
