Gonorrhoea (The CLAP)
It man not show any symptoms
It affects both men and women
If left untreated in men it can affect the prostate gland and spread to the testicles in men. It can also affect the joints. In women it can cause reduced fertility if not treated.
Gonorrhoea can be easily and successfully treated with the use of antibiotics.
Symptoms:
Pus-like discharge from the penis, vagina and/or anus can be yellowy green in colour
Pain when urinating or passing faeces
sore throat
Possibly no symptoms until it spreads
Treatment: 2 – 3 visits to the GUM clinic
Prevention:
Gonorrohea is a germ which can be passon on through sexual contact both anal and oral. Using condoms will reduce the risk of infection.
