Homophobia
Being lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender is not a crime – hate crime is.
The Treetops Centre has been created to provide a service to anyone in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight aged 13 and over who has been raped or sexually assaulted.
After someone has been raped or sexually assaulted they are able to access the following services, whether the police are involved or not:
- Forensic Medical Examination by a specialist female doctor. This examination will be carried out as sympathetically as possible. The examination may include a pregnancy test and emergency contraception, where appropriate.
- Support will be available from a specially trained project worker who will provide emotional and practical support. They will keep in touch with you with information about other services or organisations that may be of help.
- Screening for sexually transmitted infections can also be arranged.
If you need directions to get to the Treetops Centre please contact them on 023 9221 0352 or visit their website www.treetopscentre.co.uk. They are available 7 days a week, 8am to 6pm.
