Young People

Inscape work with young people who are coming to terms with being lesbian or gay, or who are simply unsure about their sexuality.

Services

These pages explain the services that are available to each of these groups. There is also a page explaining the work we are doing with young people – both directly and with schools.

We run both postal and email mailing lists: click here to sign up.

One of the most important roles for Inscape is working with young people who are coming to terms with being lesbian or gay, or who are simply unsure about their sexuality.

This work is carried out in a number of ways. For instance, directly with young people and with local schools, colleges and youth groups.

Working with young people

Inscape seeks to support young people in coming to terms with their sexuality by providing them with information, advice and an opportunity to express themselves.

Schools

We are always happy to meet with schools in order to support or advise any teachers who are dealing with the issue of pupils’ sexuality, and can help resolve some difficult situations; for example concerning bullying of a gay pupil.

We provide stalls at college health fairs promoting sexual health and sexuality awareness.

Additionally, we are happy to provide training around sexuality issues free of charge to local schools or colleges, as well as give talks directly to pupils as part of a PSE curriculum or similar.
